General site settings

Customize all the fundamental aspects of your website: domain, brand information, emails, and policies.

Accessing settings

Once your website is created, you'll see the general settings screen automatically. To access it later, go to Website in the sidebar menu.

In multi-brand setups, these settings apply to the currently selected brand/website context.

Your website

In this section you can view and manage your site's domain.

Fanz subdomain

Your site comes with a free Fanz subdomain (the domain varies by country). You can:

  • View your current domain — The domain where your page is served
  • Edit the subdomain — Click "Edit" at the top right of the "Your website" card

Note: If you have a verified custom domain, the option to change the subdomain disappears. Only the custom domain is shown.

Custom domain

If you have your own domain (like tickets.yourbrand.com), you can connect it to your Fanz site.

How to connect your domain

  1. Enter your domain — Write the full domain (e.g., tickets.yourbrand.com). After typing, an automatic validation will run. If the domain is valid, you'll see a green check ✅.

  2. Add custom domain — Click on the "Add custom domain" button.

  3. Get the CNAME records — After a few seconds, you can refresh the domain status and the CNAME records will appear on screen. You'll need to go to your domain provider's panel (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.) and add those CNAME records there.

  4. Wait for propagation — Once you add the CNAME records, propagation can take between 1 and 24 hours depending on the provider. You can refresh the domain status periodically. When the records have propagated correctly, you'll see your site as "Verified" ✅.

Don't have hosting for your domain?

If you bought a domain but don't have a hosting provider, Fanz offers free hosting.

Contact us at admin@fanz.com.ar and we'll host the domain and connect it to Fanz at no cost.

Important before sharing

⚠️ Before sharing your custom domain link, make sure the status says "Verified". If the domain is not verified, the site is still being served from the Fanz subdomain.

If validation fails

If for some reason the custom domain validation fails:

  1. You can edit the domain and try again
  2. New CNAME records will be generated
  3. Add the new records in your provider
  4. Do this quickly to avoid records expiring

Don't know how to add CNAME records?

If you don't know how to add CNAME records in your domain provider, ask Fanzly (our chatbot). Tell it which provider you have your domain with and it will guide you step by step to configure the records.

URL changes

Just like with the subdomain, when you configure a custom domain, all your event links will change to the new domain.

General information

Configure the basic information about your brand that will appear on your website.

This configuration updates only the active website context, not all websites globally.

Available fields

FieldDescriptionWhere it appears
Site namePublic name of your brandHeader, browser title, SEO
Legal nameCompany name or legal nameFooter, policies, invoices
SloganShort phrase for your brandBelow the logo (depending on template)
Incorporation yearYear foundedFooter ("© 2024 Your Brand")

All these fields can be edited at any time.

Email communication

Configure a corporate email so all Fanz emails are sent from your domain.

Why is this important?

  • Professionalism — Emails arrive as info@yourbrand.com instead of no-reply@fanz.com.ar
  • Better deliverability — Emails from your domain have better delivery rates
  • Trust — Your customers recognize your brand in every communication

Requirements

  • Corporate email required — Only emails with your own domain are allowed (no Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.)
  • Google Workspace recommended — Has the best delivery rate of all providers

Verification process

  1. Enter your corporate email — For example: info@yourbrand.com
  2. Add DNS records — The system will give you records to add in your domain provider
  3. Wait for verification — Amazon SES will verify that you own the domain

Can I change it later?

Yes, you can edit the sending email at any time. If you change it, you need to verify the new domain again.

This email is very important because:

  • It's shown when the chatbot can't resolve a query
  • It's included in all automatic emails (confirmations, reminders, etc.)
  • It's the main contact point for your customers

Terms and policies

By default, your site uses Fanz's default policies. You can customize them according to your needs.

Next steps

  1. Understand site analytics
  2. Customize branding
  3. Configure homepage

CNAME record propagation can take between 1 and 24 hours, depending on your domain provider. You can refresh the status periodically until it shows as "Verified".

Specific timing by domain type:

  • .com domains: Usually propagate the same day
  • .com.ar domains (NIC Argentina): Can take 24-72 hours depending on NIC's load

Yes, we provide SSL validation automatically. In some cases, if you have custom hosting, it may fail because you need to add 2 CAA records: issue and issuewild for amazon.com.

Only CNAME records. We support both subdomains and main domain settings, so tickets.yoursite.com and yoursite.com will both work.

No, only one at a time. Old links do not redirect—they break. That's why it's important to update all links you've shared.

For the moment, only a single custom domain is allowed per site.

Fanz offers free hosting through Amazon Route 53. Contact us at admin@fanz.com.ar and we'll host the domain at no cost. Nothing changes on your side—you just need to contact us if you want to add any additional records.

Ask Fanzly (our chatbot). Tell it which provider you have your domain with (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.) and it will guide you step by step to configure the records.

Once you see "Verified" in your custom domain status, your website is live at your custom domain.

We need SPF + DKIM + DMARC records for better deliverability. The system will guide you to configure them.

If you configure a sender email, all emails are sent through that. If not, all are sent through Fanz (no-reply@fanz.com.ar). Using the Fanz email is a valid option if you don't want to invest in Google Workspace.

If you're using a personal email (@gmail.com, @outlook.com, @hotmail.com), many servers will reject your emails. The solution is to use Google Workspace ($6 USD/month) with your own domain, so emails are sent from your@yourdomain.com. This dramatically improves deliverability.

Yes, we recommend having separate emails to handle outbound (sending) and inbound (support) emails.
