Bar breakdown
Each bar is divided by color to show composition:
- Default: Divided by events (each color = one event)
- With category filter: Divided by categories
Hover over any segment to see:
- Which event or category it represents
- The exact amount for that segment
- What percentage of the bar it represents
How to use this chart
Identify trends:
- Are sales growing month over month?
- Which days of the week perform best?
- Is there seasonality in your business?
Compare events:
- Which events contribute most to your revenue?
- Are newer events outperforming older ones?
Understand costs:
- Switch to "Fanz fees" or "Processor fees" to see your costs over time
- Compare gross vs net income to understand your true margins
Optimize pricing:
- Compare "Ticket amount" vs "Service charge" to see the balance
- Track how pricing changes affect total revenue
Payment method chart (Sunburst chart)
The second chart is a sunburst chart—a multi-layered pie chart that shows how your customers pay.
What is a sunburst chart?
Think of it as a pie chart with two rings:
- Inner ring: The main payment methods (the "what")
- Outer ring: The specific payment types within each method (the "how")
Inner ring: Payment methods
Shows the distribution across main payment channels:
| Segment | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Mercado Pago | Online payments through Mercado Pago |
| Stripe | Online payments through Stripe |
| dLocal | Online payments through dLocal |
| Ticket office | In-person sales at box office |
| Free | $0 tickets claimed on the site |
| Courtesy | Tickets sent directly by you |
Each segment shows:
- Percentage of total sales
- Amount in your currency
Outer ring: Payment types
For each payment method in the inner ring, the outer ring breaks down the specific payment type used:
For Mercado Pago:
- Credit card
- Debit card
- Account money (balance)
- QR Mercado Pago
- Other methods
For Stripe:
- Credit card
- Debit card
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Other methods
For dLocal:
- Credit card
- Debit card
- Local payment methods
For Ticket office:
- Cash
- Credit card
- Debit card
- Bank transfer
- QR Mercado Pago
- Other
Chart display options
You can toggle between two display modes:
- Percentage (%): Shows each segment as a percentage of total
- Absolute values: Shows the actual amounts in your currency
Use percentage to understand proportions, and absolute values to see real numbers.
Reading the sunburst chart
- Look at the inner ring first to understand your main sales channels
- Then look at the outer ring to see how people pay within each channel
- Hover over any segment to see exact percentages and amounts
Why payment data matters
Understanding how your customers pay helps you make better business decisions:
1. Processing fees vary by payment type
Different payment methods have different fees:
| Payment type | Typical fee range |
|---|---|
| Credit card | Higher fees (2-4%) |
| Debit card | Lower fees (1-2%) |
| Account money | Lower fees |
| Cash (ticket office) | No processor fees |
Use this insight: If most customers pay with credit cards, your effective fee rate is higher. Consider offering incentives for lower-fee payment methods.
2. Understand your customer base
Payment preferences reveal customer behavior:
- High credit card usage: Customers may prefer installments
- High debit/cash: Price-sensitive customers
- High online vs ticket office: Digital-savvy vs traditional audience
3. Plan your cash flow
- Online payments: Usually settled in 1-3 business days
- Ticket office cash: Immediate access
- Credit with installments: May have delayed settlement
4. Optimize your channels
If ticket office sales are high:
- Consider adding more box office points
- Train staff for faster transactions
If online is dominant:
- Invest in website optimization
- Focus on digital marketing
Practical examples
Example 1: Identify fee optimization opportunities
You notice 80% of Mercado Pago payments are credit cards:
- Your average processor fee is ~3.5%
- Consider promoting debit card payments (lower fees)
- Calculate potential savings if you shift 20% to debit
Example 2: Understand seasonal patterns
Looking at monthly bars, you notice:
- December has 3x more sales than average
- January is your slowest month
- Use this to plan marketing budgets and staffing
Example 3: Compare event performance
Filtering by category "Concerts":
- See which concert generated most net income
- Compare ticket amounts across similar events
- Identify what makes top performers different
Next steps
Gross income is the total amount charged to customers before any deductions. Net income is what you actually receive after platform fees, processor fees, and taxes are deducted.
Ticket amount only includes the base ticket price. Gross income includes tickets plus service charges plus add-ons—everything the customer paid.
The payment method filter is designed to isolate specific payment channels for detailed analysis. To see all payment methods compared, leave it on "All" and use the sunburst chart.
Yes. Use the Events filter in the sidebar to select one or more events. Both charts will update to show only that event's data.
The outer ring shows the specific payment type within each payment method. For example, within "Mercado Pago" you can see how much came from credit cards vs debit cards vs account money.
Different payment types have different processing fees. Credit cards typically cost more than debit cards or cash. Understanding this helps you estimate your true costs and potentially optimize.
The charts are for visual analysis. For exportable data, use the Purchases tab where you can filter by payment method and export to Excel/CSV.
Check your filters. You might have selected events, categories, or payment methods with no sales in the selected date range. Try expanding the date range or clearing filters.
