Membership plans

Create subscription plans with custom pricing, benefits, and variations. Manage everything from one place.


Accessing plans

Go to Memberships → Plans.

You'll see a searchable table of all your plans, filterable by category.


Creating a plan

Click Create membership plan in the top right.

Plan details

Variations (optional)

Variations let you offer the same plan with different options.

Example: "Gold Membership" with location variations:

  • Variation name: "Location"
  • Options: "Miami", "Texas", "New York"

Subscribers must select an option when signing up.

To add a variation:

  1. Click Add variation
  2. Enter variation name (e.g., "Location", "Venue", "Region")
  3. Add options (e.g., "Miami", "Texas")
  4. Add more variations if needed

Registration limit (optional)

Limit how many exclusive events members can join at once.

  • Off (default): No limits
  • On: Set a specific number (e.g., 1 event at a time)

Members must wait for their current event to end before enrolling in another exclusive event.

Benefits

Write a summary of what's included in the plan. This appears on the plan detail page.

Use the text editor to format:

  • Bullet points for benefit lists
  • Bold text for emphasis
  • Links to relevant pages

FAQs (optional)

Add frequently asked questions specific to this plan.

Click Add frequent question and enter:

  • Question
  • Answer

Digital wallet (optional)

Upload a 3:1 image for Google Wallet and Apple Wallet. Members can save their membership card to their phone.


Plans table

All plans appear in a table with these columns:

Plans with variations

Click on a row to expand and see variation details:

  • Variation type and option
  • Active members per option
  • Gross and net revenue per option

Plan actions

Click the actions menu (⋮) on any plan:

Edit

Modify plan details. Notes:

  • Price changes send a notification email to all subscribers
  • Wallet image changes only affect new subscribers

Duplicate

Create a copy with all fields pre-filled. Useful for creating similar plans quickly.

Purchase email

Customize the email new subscribers receive.

To set up:

  1. Click Purchase email
  2. Select an existing template or click Create email template
  3. For new templates, configure:
    • Template name
    • Subject (can include: member name, last name, plan name)
    • Email message (text editor with personalization options)
    • Include membership card PDF (checked by default)
  4. Save changes

Deactivate

Warning: This cancels the plan for all current subscribers.

Use this only if you want to completely shut down the plan and remove all members.

Hide plan

Hides the plan from public view:

  • Current members stay subscribed
  • New people cannot subscribe
  • Plan no longer appears on your site

Use this when you want to stop new signups but keep existing members.

Delete

Permanently removes the plan.

Note: You cannot delete a plan with active subscribers. Deactivate first to remove subscribers, then delete.


Displaying plans on your site

Plans don't appear automatically on your website. You need to add them to a custom page.

Steps:

  1. Go to Website → Pages
  2. Create a new page or edit an existing one
  3. In the page builder, add a Memberships block
  4. Choose to display by category or select specific plans
  5. Publish the page

Yes. Edit the plan and change the price. All current subscribers will receive an email notification about the price change. The new price applies from their next billing cycle.

Hide: Plan becomes invisible to new signups, but current members continue normally. Deactivate: Cancels the plan for everyone, including current members.

Yes. Set the Quantity field when creating the plan. Once that number is reached, no new subscriptions are accepted.

Each variation option is tracked separately. You can see active members and revenue per option in the expanded plan view.

No. If you don't set one, subscribers receive a default Fanz email with their membership details and QR code.
