Available roles

Fanz has 9 roles with different access levels. Choose the right role based on what you need each person to be able to do.

Owner

Total access to the brand.

Can:

  • Read and write everything
  • Access the Website menu to configure the whitelabel
  • Manage team, settings, integrations
  • Everything other roles can do

This is the only role that can edit website settings (branding, homepage, custom pages).

Requires event assignment: No

Administrator

Almost total access.

Can do everything the Owner can except:

  • Access the Website menu

Ideal for trusted people who manage the complete operation but don't need to touch branding or site configuration.

Requires event assignment: No

Producer

Full access to assigned events.

Can:

  • View and edit event data
  • Sell tickets
  • Send courtesy tickets
  • Validate access
  • View event statistics
  • Manage tickets and pricing

Cannot see:

  • Team
  • Website
  • Event builder
  • Brand settings
  • Unassigned events

Ideal for external producers managing specific events without access to the rest of the platform.

Requires event assignment: Yes

Use case: multiple producers on a single platform

If you run a white-label platform where different organizers each publish their own events, the Producer role handles this out of the box. Each producer works in a fully isolated workspace — they only see events assigned to or created by them and have no visibility into other producers' content, team members, or brand configuration.

How to set it up:

  1. Go to Team → Invitation Links and create a new link with the Producer role
  2. Send the link to the producer — they register or log into Fanz and are added to your brand automatically
  3. The producer can immediately start creating and managing events from their own dashboard
  4. Repeat for every additional producer on your platform

What producers can do (for their events only):

  • Create new events and configure all details
  • Manage tickets, pricing, and availability
  • Sell tickets and send courtesies
  • Validate access at the door
  • View sales analytics and reports

What producers cannot access:

  • Other producers' events
  • Team management or invitation links
  • Brand and website settings
  • Payment configurations or payouts

What the brand owner always retains:

  • Full visibility over every event across all producers
  • Ability to assign additional events to any producer from Team → Members
  • Full control over all brand settings, payments, and website configuration

RRPP (Public Relations)

Access only to their RRPP Profile.

Can:

  • See their personalized sales link for each assigned event
  • Monitor their sales and revenue
  • View their complete transaction history

Cannot see or do anything else on the platform.

Ideal for influencers, promoters, or paid partnerships. Both parties have transparent access to sales metrics.

Requires event assignment: Yes

Seller

Access only to the box office.

Can:

  • Access the "Sell" menu
  • Sell tickets for assigned events
  • Reserve tickets for assigned events

Cannot see or do anything else.

Ideal for box office staff who only need to process sales.

Requires event assignment: Yes

Validator

Access only to validation.

Can:

  • Access the validation tab
  • Change validation status of QR codes
  • Only for assigned events

Cannot see or do anything else.

Ideal for door staff who only need to scan and validate tickets.

Requires event assignment: Yes

Analyst

Read-only access.

Can view:

  • Event metrics
  • Reports
  • Customer service reviews

Cannot edit anything, only view data.

Ideal for stakeholders, sponsors, investors, or anyone who needs to see numbers without being able to modify anything.

Requires event assignment: No (sees metrics for all events)

Membership Administrator

Access to the Memberships menu.

Can:

  • View assigned memberships
  • Create and edit assigned membership plans
  • Manage subscribers for assigned memberships

Cannot access the rest of the platform.

Ideal for people who manage specific membership programs.

Requires membership assignment: Yes

Custom

Fully configurable access with granular per-section and per-sub-tab read/write permissions.

Starts with no access at all. You configure exactly which sections (tabs) and sub-sections (sub-tabs) the member can read and/or write.

The Custom role is always used on its own — it cannot be combined with any other role.

Data access scope

When you select the Custom role, a Data access option appears before the permissions editor:

OptionWhat the member sees
Only assignedOnly the events and memberships you explicitly assign to them
All dataAll events and memberships in the brand, with no restrictions

This setting works alongside the permissions configuration. For example, a member with write access to Events but scope set to "Only assigned" can only edit the specific events assigned to them — not all brand events.

When "Only assigned" is selected, selectors appear on the form so you can choose which events and/or memberships to assign.

Configuring permissions

Click "Edit Permissions" to open the permissions editor. It shows every section of the platform as a grid with Read and Write columns:

SectionSub-tabs you can configure
EventsGeneral, Orders, Tickets, Analytics, Members, Referrals, Discounts, Add-Ons, Assistants, Communications, Bordereaux
ReportsGeneral, Purchases, Compare Events (read-only), Sales by Time (read-only), Ticket Office Closings
TeamMembers, Invitation Links
Validate(no sub-tabs)
SellSell, Reserve, Send Courtesies
MarketingEmail Campaigns, Analytics, Segments, Contacts, Fanzly, Email Settings, Flows
Customer ServiceCustomer Feedback, Chatbot Conversations, Refunds, Membership Cancellations
MembershipsPlans, Members, Payments, Payments Calendar (read-only), Discounts for Events, Analytics, Validations (read-only)
UpsellOffers, Analytics (read-only)
SettingsPayments, Marketing, Brand, Notifications, Bordereaux, Automatic Billing, Discount Codes, Payouts, Invoices
Seat Maps(no sub-tabs)
WebsiteVisitor Statistics (read-only), Homepage, Branding, Pages, General Settings, Ticket Designs, Social Proof, FAQs, Chatbot, SEO
RRPP Profile(read-only, no sub-tabs)

For each section and sub-tab, you can configure:

  • Read: The member can view the section
  • Write: The member can create, edit, and delete within the section

Rules:

  • Enabling Write automatically enables Read
  • Disabling Read automatically disables Write
  • Entries marked (read-only) don't have a Write toggle by design
  • At least one permission must be enabled to save the custom role

Tips for using the permissions editor:

  • Click the arrow next to a section name to expand it and configure individual sub-tabs
  • Sections that have been changed from their defaults are highlighted in blue; a badge counter at the top shows how many sections have been modified
  • Use the Read / Write header checkboxes to select or deselect all sections at once
  • Click Reset to restore everything to the Custom defaults (all permissions off)
  • Click Done when finished to return to the main form

Requires event or membership assignment: Only if Data access is set to "Only assigned"

Role combinations

Some roles can be combined, and the Custom role lets you define permissions from scratch:

Roles that CANNOT be combined

RoleReason
OwnerAlready has total access
AdministratorAlready has total access (except website)
CustomDefines its own permissions independently

When you select Owner or Administrator, other selections are automatically cleared. Custom is also used on its own.

Roles that CAN be combined

RRPPSeller, Validator, Analyst, Membership Admin
SellerRRPP, Validator, Analyst, Membership Admin
ValidatorRRPP, Seller, Analyst, Membership Admin
AnalystRRPP, Seller, Validator, Membership Admin
Membership AdminAll except Owner, Administrator, and Custom

Useful combination examples

  • Seller + Validator: Staff who sells at box office and also validates at the door
  • RRPP + Analyst: Promoter who can see their sales and also general metrics
  • Producer + Membership Admin: Producer who handles events and also a membership program

Next steps

  1. Create invitation links
  2. Manage existing members

Yes. Select the Custom role when creating an invitation link or editing a member. A permissions grid appears where you can toggle read and write access for every section and sub-tab individually. This gives you full control over exactly what the member can see and do.

Yes, the Analyst role has read-only access to metrics, reports, and reviews. They cannot edit anything.

Because Producer already includes Seller, Validator, RRPP, and Analyst permissions for assigned events, plus additional write permissions. It would be redundant.

Yes, this is exactly what the Producer role is designed for. Assign the Producer role to each person via an invitation link. Each producer gets their own isolated workspace — they can create and manage their own events without seeing other producers' events, team members, or any brand settings. As the brand owner, you always have full visibility over all events and can adjust any producer's assignments from Team → Members.

The Analyst sees metrics from all brand events. They don't need specific assignment.

Only the Owner can edit the website. If you need to delegate that, you'd have to give them the Owner role.

When set to "Only assigned", the member only sees the events and memberships you explicitly assign to them — they won't see other events in the brand even if they have permission to read Events. When set to "All data", the member can see every event and membership in the brand, limited only by their configured section permissions.

Yes. The Custom role starts with zero access and you enable only what you need. For example, you can create a member who can only read Reports and write to Sell — nothing else would be visible to them.

Yes. Enabling Write on any section or sub-tab automatically enables Read for that same section. Conversely, disabling Read automatically disables Write.
