Website SEO
Control how your site appears on Google, social media, and when sharing links.
What is SEO?
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the set of techniques to make your site appear better positioned in search engines like Google. It also includes how your site looks when someone shares a link on WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook.
Accessing the configuration
From the Fanz dashboard, go to Website → SEO.
The screen is divided into two columns:
- Left column: Title, description, and Google preview
- Right column: Favicon, social preview, and app icons
Left column: Basic settings
Site title
The main text that identifies your site.
Where it appears:
- The browser tab
- Google search results
- When someone bookmarks your site
Recommendations:
- Ideal length: 50-60 characters
- Include your brand name
- Be descriptive but concise
Example:
"Teatro El Cubo | Official ticket sales site"
Site description
The text that describes your site and appears below the title in Google results.
Recommendations:
- Ideal length: 150-160 characters
- Describe what your site does
- Include relevant keywords
- You can use emojis to stand out
Example:
"Independent theater 🎭 📍 Zelaya 3053, Abasto Area"
Google search preview
Below the title and description fields, you'll see a real-time preview of how your site will appear in Google search results. This preview updates automatically as you type.
Right column: Images and icons
Favicon
The favicon is the small icon that appears in the browser tab.
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Size | 64 × 64 px |
| Format | PNG recommended |
How to configure:
- Click Upload to upload your favicon
- You'll see two previews: Light Theme and Dark Theme showing how it looks in browsers with light and dark themes
- To remove the favicon, click the X that appears in the corner of the preview
Tip: Design a simple favicon that's recognizable at small sizes. Make sure it looks good on both light and dark backgrounds.
Social Preview
The image that appears when someone shares a link to your site on WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Ideal size | 1200 × 630 px |
| Format | PNG or JPG |
How to configure:
- Click Upload to upload the image
- You'll see a preview of the image
- To remove, click the X that appears in the corner of the preview
Design recommendations:
- Use your logo or brand name prominently
- Avoid too much text (social networks penalize images with lots of text)
- Choose an image that represents your brand/business
- Make sure it's readable at small sizes (WhatsApp shows a reduced version)
Google Search and Apple Icon
The logo that appears in:
- Google search results (especially on mobile)
- The Apple App Store if someone downloads your site shortcut as an app
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Size | 180 × 180 px |
| Format | PNG |
How to configure:
- Click Upload to upload the icon
- You'll see a preview showing how the icon looks as an iPhone app
- To remove, click the X that appears in the corner of the preview
Recommendations:
- Use a simple design (your logo or initial)
- Don't use transparent background (iOS doesn't support it well)
- Don't add rounded corners (iOS adds them automatically)
Automatic SEO for events
Fanz automatically generates SEO for each event:
- Title: Event name + Date + Location
- Description: Event description (first 160 characters)
- Image: Event banner
- Structured data: Schema.org for events (helps Google understand your content)
This means each event has its own SEO optimization without you having to do anything.
Best practices
Keywords
- Use terms people would search for
- Include your brand name
- Mention the type of events you offer
- Include geographic location
Consistency
- Use the same name everywhere
- Maintain the same brand image
- Update information when it changes
Testing
After configuring, test by sharing a link:
- In a private WhatsApp group
- On Facebook (private mode)
- Use tools like Facebook Sharing Debugger
Next steps
Google changes can take days to weeks to reflect. Social networks usually update faster (minutes to hours). If you don't see the change on social media, try using the Facebook Sharing Debugger to force an update.
Modern browsers have dark mode. Your favicon should look good in both contexts. The preview lets you verify that your design works on both light and dark backgrounds.
Yes, each event has its own SEO automatically generated based on its information. What you configure in this section is the general site SEO (homepage, etc.).
If you don't configure a social preview image, when you share a link to your site on social media, a generic image or no image will be shown. It's highly recommended to configure it because it significantly improves click-through rates.
It's not mandatory, but it improves the experience. Without it, Google may show a generic icon and users who add your site to their iPhone home screen will see a screenshot instead of your logo.
Fanz uses reasonable default values based on your site name and logo. But customizing it significantly improves appearance in search engines and social media, which translates to more clicks and more visits.
Yes. Good SEO makes more people find you on Google. A good social media preview makes more people click when you share a link. Both translate to more traffic and potentially more sales.
Yes, you can use emojis. In fact, they can help your result stand out on Google and be more eye-catching. Use them in moderation to avoid looking like spam.
Try searching for your brand on Google and check how it appears. Share a link on WhatsApp and look at the preview. If you don't like what you see, go back and adjust the corresponding fields.
Yes, the same image is used for all social networks: WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, etc. The 1200×630px size is the standard that works well on all of them.
